Bulakbol Diaries

Is about me and my camera. Its about the stories behind some images I've made. Its about some small detail that I sometimes recall only after the fact. Its mostly about landscapes and people. That's what attracts me.

Boracay Snapshots

I went to Boracay recently with my sister who has never been to there before. Where to stay was the question but I remembered a place that fascinated me before-Baling Hai resort. It was away from the main hub of tourists and if u were just keen to have peace and quiet-thats the place. Here are more pictures of Baling Hai during the low season of August.

The locals call this “pito-on”. It was everywhere and was from the tree on the beach.

This is the beach just below our cottage. It was full of green “lumot” (algae) and since the weather was wilder that weekend, it was not inviting enough for a swim. So off we went to Puka Beach.

It rained for a while and the tourists disappeared except for us who waited for the sun to be back. We jumped into the water again after the rain.

The locals reclaimed their beach as soon as the rain went away that day. This is Puka Beach. The day before,we had gone to hang out at White beach and it was quite interesting to see images behind the huge burlap-curtained window from our cafe.

The images behind the texture made me look:

Vendors selling “balut” (duck egg) , chicharon, etc. White beach,Boracay.

Guitarman patrolling the beach. White Beach, Boracay.

I think this little girl was let loose by her “yaya” (nanny) and so she was peering into our window.

I liked the aqua blue “salbabida” ( flotation device )

Who could miss the lovers by the beach?
