Dayhike to Mt. Maculot, Cuenca, Batangas

Welcome to Cuenca, Batangas. In the background is Mt. Maculot shielded by rising fog.

Plants like these were common at the lower slopes. Maculot is 3 thousand feet above sea level. It was traditionally a level 1 climb experience for beginners to mountain hiking in the Manila area. It remains popular but its accessibility now makes it a destination for all guests of the outdoors.

The dry stream is quite unusual for the rainy season. Climate change?

Syempre, nandyan pa si Mang Manuel ng Mountaineer’s store. Wash up area pa rin siya.

El: o ano, kaya nyo? Dalawang oras lang ha!
